Museum audio guide FAQ

How can a museum audio guide trigger content automatically?

Content can start automatically when a visitor enters a zone covered by an infrared or radio-frequency beacon. Depending on the model and route, the same tour can also use RFID or NFC-style interactions, Point & Click, Buzz & Play, or a numeric keypad. Methods can be mixed within one visit.

How do we update audio guide content and view visitor statistics?

Tours can be managed in Look2Guide and loaded through USB or a data rack. Compatible smart chargers can automate content updates and upload usage statistics while devices charge. Offline update workflows are also available; remote features depend on the selected hardware and software package.

How long do audio guide batteries last, and how are devices charged?

Battery life varies by model. Continuous playback ranges from about 30 hours for Twister to more than 60 hours for Mini Trend and Mini Style, and more than 100 hours for Trend and Style. Modular 20-device chargers keep larger fleets charged, organized and ready for updates.

Can audio guides display images or play video?

Style and Mini Style can show simple images and navigation on a 1.7-inch colour display, but standard audio guides do not play full video. Use a Look3 museum tablet for video, maps, sign language or interactive graphics. Audio guides can still synchronize their soundtracks with an external video.

Can audio guides synchronize with films, projections or shows?

Yes. Project-specific synchronization emitters and GPIO integrations can start audio and keep each language aligned with an external film, projection or show controller. The triggering and synchronization setup is designed and tested for the venue's AV system.

Do visitors need headphones, or can they use their own?

Most handheld models include a built-in speaker and a standard 3.5 mm headphone connection, so visitors can listen directly or use compatible personal or museum headsets. Mini Trend can operate without an external headset. Twister is different because its headphones and audio-guide electronics are integrated.

Can the same devices support self-guided and live guided tours?

Yes. Style and Mini Style combine a self-guided audio guide with a digital tour-guide receiver. Up to 20 groups can use assigned live-tour channels, while the same fleet can store self-guided tours and let a guide trigger prepared messages remotely.

How many languages can an audio guide support, and how do visitors select one?

Style configurations can support from 4 to 32 languages or tour versions. Visitors can choose on the device or through Point & Click, RF or IR selection points. A version can also be a children's tour, an accessible tour or a temporary-exhibition route, not only a translation.

How reliable are museum audio guides, and can they be repaired?

Reliability depends on the model, handling and operating environment. Trend is the usual choice for a low-maintenance fleet, while repair options, spare parts and warranty terms depend on the device and contract. A project plan can also include replacement units for uninterrupted operation.

Are audio guides accessible for hearing-aid users and visitors with low vision?

The optional I-Loop induction loop works with Look2Innovate audio-guide units and compatible telecoil hearing aids. Selected handheld models also offer high-contrast keypads with Braille dots, and audio description or another accessible route can be stored as a separate tour version.
